Hur ska vi åstadkomma det? Genom att erbjuda ett utrymme som osar av evig glädje och oändlig frid; en plats där du kommer att känna att du har varit – om inte alltid – under en mycket lång tid. En plats där du kan vara fridfull, glad och helt dig själv för en stund. Detta unika ögonblick kan vara med dig för alltid – om du bara tillåter det. Det krävs inte mer för att vara lycklig.
Vi tror att huset byggdes 1870, men ingen vet säkert. Bageriet i uthuset byggdes inte långt efter. Under många år var den stora trädgården ett heligt utrymme: en plats för att vila, läka, njuta och festa. Och det är det fortfarande!
Huset är nu ett museum över en byggnadsstil som inte längre används. En byggstil där varje träskiva sågades eller yxades till för hand. Om du tittar noggrant ser du att det inte finns två stycken brädor i det här huset med samma form. Underbart? Ja, fantastiskt! Det tycker vi åtminstone. Tusentals arbetstimmar lades på detta lilla, men ädla hus. Ett hus som kommer att stå för evigt, så länge taket håller.
Mormors Bakeri var inte ett bageri när vi tog det över. Det var en ruin, övergiven och dömd att förfalla, och såldes till oss som ett paket utan hus. Vi räddade detta fantastiska hus och dess bageri och gjorde det till det mysigaste cafét i södra Sverige. Så känner vi åtminstone. Vi hoppas att du håller med och att du kommer att ha en fantastisk vistelse här.
På sommaren är det underbart att sitta ute i trädgården, på vintern håller de gamla ugnarna i huset dig varm. Det finns mycket utrymme för barn att leka (inomhus och utomhus) och du kan besöka några av våra många evenemang som konserter, workshops, vår äppelfestival eller julbord.

How will we do that? By providing a space that oozes eternal joy and infinite peace; a place you will feel you have been – if not forever – then for a very long time. A place where you can be empty, peaceful, happy, and totally YOURSELF at least for a moment. This unique moment can stay with you forever – if you just allow it. It does not take more than that to be happy.
We believe that the house was built around 1870, but nobody knows for sure. The bakery in the outhouse was built not long after. For many years the big garden was a sacred space: a place for resting, healing, enjoying – and partying. And it still is!
The house itself is now a museum over a building style that is no longer in use. A building style where every single piece of wood was cut or axed by hand. If you look carefully you will see that in this house not two pieces of wood has the same shape. Wonderful? Yes, amazing! That is what we think. Thousands of hours of work went into this small, but noble house. A house that will stand forever, as long as the roof is sturdy.
Mormors Bakeri was not a bakery when we took it over. It was a ruin, abandoned and condemned, and was sold to us as a package without a house. We saved this amazing house, and its bakery, and made it into the coziest Café in southern Sweden. This is how we feel, at least. We hope you agree and that you will have the best time.
In the Summer it’s wonderful to sit outside in the garden, in winter the old ovens in the house keep you warm. There are a lot of spaces for kids to play (indoor and outdoor) and you can come and join some of our many events like concerts, workshops, our Apple Festival or Julbord.
